ALL YOUR PERFECTS by Colleen Hoover

Blurb:

Colleen Hoover delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.

Quinn and Graham’s perfect love is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair.
All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. This is a heartbreaking page-turner that asks: Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?

My Review:
Our marriage hasn’t been perfect. No marriage is perfect. There were times when she gave up on us. There were even more times when I gave up on us. The secret to our longevity is that we never gave up at the same time.
This book was an intense, emotional story. An emotional roller coaster.
It's hard to admit that a marriage might be over when the love is still there. People are led to believe that a marriage ends only when the love has been lost. When anger replaces happiness. When contempt replaces bliss. But Graham and I aren't angry at each other. We're just not the same people we used to be. Sometimes when people change, it’s not always noticeable in a marriage, because the couple changes together, in the same direction. But sometimes people change in opposite directions.
The writer introduced the present and the past alternately. So I really felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster. Once I was happy when I was reading how they fell in love, how happy they were, the next time I was so sad because they were struggling in their marriage.
Sadness is like a spiderweb. You don't see it until you're caught up in it, and then you have to claw at yourself to try to break free.
It's not easy to write about this book without telling their main problem, why their marriage lay in ruins. It's something from what a lot of married couple suffer. I think this book is for mature adults, and I don't think a young girl/boy can understand what Quinn and Graham went through.
When you meet someone who is good for you, they won’t fill you with insecurities by focusing on your flaws. They’ll fill you with inspiration, because they’ll focus on all the best parts of you.
Without telling spoilers: I could understand how they felt. They had a big problem that threatened their marriage. I totally understood both of them, and I couldn't blame any one of them for their actions. Yes, they made mistakes, but I understood why. They were humans.
No matter how much you love someone—the capacity of that love is meaningless if it outweighs your capacity to forgive.
This story wasn't a fairytale. This story had a big affect on me. It broke my heart. I could write and speak about this story for hours but I won't (because no spoilers 😉 ). While I was reading the book, I was constantly thinking about what would happen to them, would their marriage survive this? Is love enough? Because we never know how Colleen Hoover ends a story. 😄
I loved the story, I devoured it.
I recommend this book to those who love Colleen Hoover's books, but this book is definitely for mature adults. 5*

Elég-e a szerelem? 😃
Szerettem a történetet, nagyon gyorsan elolvastam.
A könyvet ajánlom azoknak, akik szeretik Colleen Hoover történeteit, de mindenképpen érettebb olvasóknak ajánlom.
