Blurb:
With her heart literally in his hands, Celia will have to try and bargain with a devil.
Edward Fasbender is my captor.
Trapped on this island he owns everything on--including, it seems, me.
He told me he would break me, but I thought he meant in the bedroom. It turns out Edward is playing a completely different game.
And he won't stop until he's ruined me.
Slay Two: Ruin is the second book in the Slay Quartet. Slay One: Rivalry should be read first.

Excerpt:
Yes, she was calculating and manipulative, and she was very spoiled about getting her way, but that was all surface. She was an onion. There were layers and layers underneath, parts of her that she held away. Parts she showed no one. For whatever reason, I’d caught sight of what she kept hidden, whether she’d meant for that to happen or not, I couldn’t be sure. Regardless, I was captivated. There was so much to see there, so much to take down. So much of her to know and own and destroy and redesign, and like an old habit, I couldn’t break away.
She was an addiction, and I wanted to feed on it. She wasn’t supposed to be like that.
She wasn’t supposed to want to bend to my whims. She wasn’t supposed to open up and give what I asked for. She wasn’t supposed to be so eager to take what I gave her. She certainly wasn’t supposed to see past my own curtain, wasn’t supposed to ask to see more.
I’m here for this, she’d said.

My Review:
I loved this book! Laurelin Paige is a genius! She made me love this book despite the fact that I hated Celia in the Fixed series.
Slay One: Rivalry was interesting, but I didn't fall in love with the characters, but because of the plot and the cliffhanger I wanted to read the second book in the series.
My earlier opinion changed, this book wasn't just interesting and exciting but now I understood Celia and I fell in love with Edward! What I was missing in the first book that we could only read Celia's POV, in RUIN we could read Edward's thoughts, we became to know his feelings too.
So Edward was my favorite character in this story. I fell for him (like Celia), he was Celia's hero, her "therapist". He helped her move on her traumatic past.
It was almost as though he could see what was happening inside me, the good and the bad, the breaking apart and the pulling together.
I loved to read his POV, I loved to read how he cared about Celia. He changed a lot as well as Celia, who became a better person and honestly I started to like her and I couldn't wait to read about them together.
I was drawn to the devil in him. Edward Fasbender fascinated me and captivated me and it certtainly wasn't because he was an angel.
Laurelin created the perfect man for Celia. They were perfect for each other. The plot was amazingly exciting, it was so interesting to read about not just Celia's, but Edward's past too.
If you were nothing, my world would not be completely chnaged by your existence.  If you were nothing, I could give you up, I could walk away. (...) You are not nothing. You are everything.
Can't wait to read the next book, because I want more Edward! 💓5*

Segített neki túllépni a traumákkal teli multján.

She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however.
