My Review:
OMG! This book was amazing! A very good movie could be made of this story. There were some exciting action scenes, some really harsh, dark ones, and this story was full of hot sex scenes. These in perfect combination.
Nick went through a lot of bad things. His wife and son were murdered, and he saw everything. These scenes brought tears to my eyes. He lost everything and he wanted revenge.
Michael Culling was responsible for his family's death. So he decided to kidnap Aubree Culling, Michael's wife. Eye for an eye.
But things changed when he became to know Aubree more. He hated her because of her husband and became fond of her while she was his captive.
I totally understood Nick, why he wanted revenge. He was a good man and changed after the murder.
My firstborn son would always hold a prominent place in my heart, and his mother, my first love, was the only woman in my life who had the power to destroy me. Losing the two of them took me to depth of pain I couldn't even remember, places so dark I feared them myself.
He became a monster, a killer. he wanted to kill everyone who was responsible for his family's death. He was fearless and loveless, or he thought... until Aubree changed everything.
To defeat a monster, I had to become one.
Aubree had a dark secret, she wasn't the perfect politician's wife who was seen on the TV, and beside the major. Her life wasn't as perfect as everyone thought.
Every scar told a story, but it was the ones we didn't want others to see that told a truth.
I loved that the book was written in alternate POVs, so we could understand more Aubree's and Nick's feelings and motives too.
The stars in the sky are the souls of the people we love. They shine so bright, not even the night can hide them. And when we're lost, they guide us.
And I definitely liked to read the Police Chief's thoughts too.
Nick and Aubree saved each other. Nick saved Aubree by kidnapping her from her husband. And Aubree wanted to help Nick whose head was full of mixed feelings, and traumatized. She helped him heal.
I saw darkness in her beazty and she saw beauty in my darkness. Yin and yang. Black and white. Beazty and scars, fury and forgiveness.
This story was a heart-breaking romance and at the same time exciting thriller. It was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I loved the author's style, I felt everything what the characters felt: anger, revenge, heartbreak, hope, lust, love. I recommend this book to those who love dark romance.

Keri Lake was a new author to me, Ricochet was my first book from her, but not the last! And I love the cover, I think the guy on the cover is perfect Nick! (Good choice!)

Ez a könyv fantasztikus volt! Nagyon jó filmet lehetne a történetből csinálni! Volt néhány igazán izgalmas akció jelenet a könyvben, néhány igazán durva jelenet és jó pár forró szexjelenet is. Ezek mind tökéletes kombinációban, mennyiségben.
Nick szörnyű dolgokon ment keresztül. A feleségét és fiát meggyilkolták, és ő mindezt végignézte. Ezek a jelenetek könnyeket csaltak a szemembe. Mindent elvettek tőle, amit szeretett, ezért bosszút akart állni.
Michael Culling volt a felelős a családja haláláért, ezért elhatározta, hogy szemet szemért el alapján elrabolja Culling feleségét Aubreet.
De minden megváltozott, mikor jobban megismerte Aubreet. Utálta őt a férje miatt de amíg fogva tartotta elkezdte kedvelni, kötődni hozzá.
Teljesen megértem Nick-et amiért bosszút akart állni. Jó ember volt, de a gyilkosság teljesen megváltoztatta.
Ő is egy szörnyeteg lett, egy szívtelen gyilkos. Mindenkit meg akart ölni akinek köze volt a felesége és fia halálához. Nem félt semmitől és szívtelen volt, vagyis így gondolta, mindaddig míg Aubree meg nem jelent.
Aubree-nak van egy szörnyű titka. Nem az a nő akinek sokak gondolják. nem az a tökéletes politikus feleség aki megjelenik a tévében és a férje mellett. Nem olyan tökéletes az élete mint ahogy mások gondolják.
Nagyon tetszett, hogy több nézőpontból olvashattuk a történetet, mert így jobban érthetőek Aubree és Nick érzelmei és cselekedetei. És egyértelműen jó volt, hogy betekintést nyerhettünk a rendőrfőnök gondolataiba is.
Aubree és Nick megmentette egymást. Nick azzal, hogy elrabolta Aubreet megmentette az életét, és Aubree segített Nicknek szembenézni a félelmeivel, a múlttal, segített neki gyógyulni.
Ez a sztori egy szívszorító romantikus történet, ugyanakkor egy izgalmakkal teli thriller. Egy érzelmi hullámvasút volt számomra. Tetszett az írónő stílusa, minden érzelmet átéltem amit a szereplők éreztek: haragot, dühöt, bosszúvágyat, szívet tépő fájdalmat, reményt, vágyat, szerelmet.
Keri Lake új szerő volt számomra, ez volt az első könyve, amit olvastam, de nem az utolsó! A borító pedig nagyon tetszik, teljesen el tudom képzelni Nick karakterét úgy, mint a borítón lévő pasit. (Jó választás volt!) 5*
